In Motion
Two weeks and a day.
That’s how long Phil has been in the hospital. The original surgery that went so well has been complicated with an infection. An infection that has done a number on him and on us. So, now we wait, and wait, and wait as another surgery is in progress.
That’s about all I will say about that. It’s his story, not mine.
But I will say that things become a little flip flopped at times like this.
Things that I usually don’t like doing – laundry, changing the beds, straightening up the house, driving – any mindless activity really – are perfectly fine with me now. They keep me moving.
Things that I usually like doing – blogging, projects around the house, reading, anything that takes any level of concentration, and even eating – I can do without.
And it’s surprising how many things can wait. There’s no rush for them. They don’t need to be done right now.
And then there are the times when I come across something beautiful. I don’t appreciate those moments more. Or less. They just catch me by surprise.
By the way, Matt says “Hi.”
