A Caleb Summertime Recap
It’s been a while since I’ve published a post focused on Caleb, so it’s time! Here is a quick recap of my summer moments with Mr. Baby, as his parents refer to him. Just warning you, the quick recap might include quite a few pictures. It’s hard for me to down select.
June
We traveled down to New Jersey over Father’s Day Weekend. Note to self – traveling on a Friday afternoon of the first summer holiday weekend after a year of a pandemic is not advised. While we were there, we went swimming at a local lake, had a bath, and celebrated Caleb’s Christening. He wore David’s Christening outfit, which he looked quite handsome in.
July
Caleb’s first time at the lake! And the first time meeting great aunts, great uncles, and 1st cousins once removed. He went for his first boat ride (he didn’t like the life jacket), and he had his first taste of food (he didn’t like the cereal).
Then it was on to my mother’s memorial get together where, in addition to the above, he met great great grandparents, great great aunts and uncles, 1st cousins twice removed, and 2nd cousins once removed. (Trust me. I looked it up.)
From there it was back to Methuen where he met his 2nd cousin, Jacob!
August
In August I got a whole week with Caleb at the lake where we vacationed with the Murphy clan. There, Caleb went swimming and boating, fell asleep on Heather multiple times, met Rex for the first time, pooped on both Grampy and Grandma, and modeled cute tee shirts with Jacob. During this time, Debbie and I shook our heads at his 45 minute naps and the cold that he got immediately upon starting day care. (I’m including a few pics of Jacob here because he is also stinking cute.)
September
Meagan and Chris had a wedding to go to, so I traveled down to New Jersey to babysit. Caleb and I had an enjoyable evening together where we had dinner, washed his transformer of a high chair, and watched exciting US Open tennis while drinking a bottle (him, not me).
The day after the wedding, he was taking an unusually long nap. Chris asked Meagan if they should wake him up. I said no, even though I wasn’t asked. They both told me doctors don’t recommend letting babies sleep more than 2 hours. I asked why not. They told me because the doctors want to make sure the baby gets enough to eat.
October
Back to the lake for the long weekend where I put everyone to work. Even Caleb helped pick up sticks. Though there was plenty of time for camp fires, walks, apple cider donuts from the farm, and photo shoots.
And that is a quick recap of my time with Caleb this summer. Now that I’ve wrapped that up, I think I’ll go look at flights.
