A Slow Transformation – Continued
I am not nearly done yet, but I have an update on the changes I’m making to Meagan’s bedroom.
One might ask why it is taking me so long. I’ll give you an example. On the way to getting a tool from the basement I went outside to put the hose away, got distracted, and transplanted 7 bushes. Then I forgot what tool I was looking for. Then I had to stop early because 15 D-sized batteries were desperately needed for a soccer game. I didn’t realize batteries were required equipment for soccer. Just to prove I’m not a pushover of a mom, I did not bring her 15 batteries. I brought her 12.
I managed to finish painting all of the pink walls and some of the green. And then I ran out of paint. Rather than asking for Montgomery White at 83%, my mother had suggested bringing a painted poster board to the paint store for matching. Sometimes I do listen to her, even though she thinks I don’t. They did the match, and, while they were at it, they told me the closest Ben Moore paint color was Cookie Dough.
I wish I had not been informed of that.
I also managed to change out a few of the electrical sockets. Since I was alone in the house, and I got tired of running up and down the stairs between the basement and the second floor trying to figure out which circuit breaker to turn off, I just shut them all off.
After PT for my knees one day (another example of why this is taking so long), I ran into a fabric store for fabric to cover the window seat and the desk chair. I’m told the fabric is boring (by the daughter requiring batteries), but, for $16 worth of fabric, I think it looks good enough for now.
The chair attended Wellesley for four years and was in pretty rough shape. I actually put it on my free table, but it was one of the rare occasions when something didn’t go. So I did some reglueing and slapped some cookie dough paint on it. Again, good enough until I can decide what color I really want to paint it.
By the way, that PT appointment? There was a scheduling snafu that needed to be straightened out. I nearly lost it. They don’t realize. I shower for those appointments.
Hahaha the shower comment got me. Too funny!
