A Wheaton Lyon

Nicole recently made the decision to attend Wheaton College (the one in Massachusetts, not the one in Illinois). This past Friday Dave, Nicole, and I went there for their day where they hosted accepted students.

What a great day. I was impressed with the administrators, the faculty, the campus, and the students. I couldn’t be happier for Nicole. If you had asked me two or three years ago if I thought we would be able to get to this point, I wouldn’t have been so sure. I am so appreciative of where she is now. Is that wrong of me to say? Does that somehow make me a bad parent?

As part of the day, we also had the opportunity to sit it in on a two hour soccer practice. Yes, we did indeed. Dave staked out his seat for next fall.

Stands

We are excited for Nicole, and I think she is pretty excited.

And as a little aside from the main topic of this post, I did get up to the Lake this weekend. A crew of three, where the average age was 69, managed to do this:

Dock

My brother Matt was a little concerned that this might have been a stress-free activity due to his absence. I assured  him that was not the case. There is something about moving a dock that introduces dissonance in the tone of any speaker participating in the activity.
