Africa, or How About Paris?
Last Saturday, Meagan departed DC at about 6:30 pm headed for the Ivory Coast on another business trip. Upon landing in Abidjan on Sunday at about 3:30 pm our time, she turned on her phone and was flooded with messages to call the office immediately. Upon doing so, they told her to start heading back. Immediately.
There had been a terrorist attack at three hotels in the area.
At that point, she did the smartest thing ever and texted her mom that she was okay. (Of course, at that particular time, I was oblivious to anything happening in the world outside of the high school gym where the 3-on-3 final was being played.)
At 6:30 pm our time Sunday, twenty-four hours after she had left DC, she was on a flight sort of heading back.
She stopped in Paris for two days where she got in as much site seeing as possible. Here are some of her photos.
It looks like she did her fair share of eating as well.
When I first told my mother what was going on, she commented that this experience might put Meagan off of traveling.
Then again, maybe not.
Yes, she is back in DC, one hour shy of four days after she left.
