Another DC Weekend
We made another family trip to DC this past weekend.
What a fun city. I always feel that we only see the tip of the iceberg when we are there. That might be because it’s hard to get the kids going in the morning, and they like to start things off with a leisurely brunch. We actually begin each day some time after noon.
After brunch the first day, we went to Old Town Alexandria for some shopping and to catch the tail end of some sort of Scottish parade. We took a quick walk down to the waterfront to see what was going on there, and then drove over to the National Cathedral. My one disappointment of the day was that we arrived there shortly after closing. From there it was off to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants at Washington Harbor near Georgetown. Dave’s biggest disappointment of the day was that we didn’t let him get his ice cream sandwich there.
After brunch the second day, we went to the National Mall where we walked, and walked, and walked some more. I can’t get enough of that place. I think it is so pretty. I was thrilled that we made it to the top of the steps of the Lincoln. I was a happy camper.
Heather was not.
I have a feeling next time it will be my turn to be the unhappy camper.
WTF on not letting dave get his ice cream. We’re gonna lose him if you’re not nicer.
He wanted to go to the Spy Museum the next day. He didn’t get to do that either.
