Decisions, Decisions
The three girls were all home for the weekend, and there were difficult decisions to be made and revisited.
The original plan was to go up to the lake for Friday evening and Saturday, but given the weather, the girls hemmed and hawed and finally decided against that.
Instead, Meagan and Heather planned to go into Boston Friday night, but Heather was second-guessing that decision and called me to ask what they should do and what I thought Meagan really wanted to do.
How should I know?
So, I made dinner just in case – a recipe of my mother’s that they both individually requested. (I’d like to think my own recipes are pretty good, as well.)
They ended up deciding against Boston and came home. After dinner, we set about selecting a movie – usually an arduous decision for our group. We have to be careful about what we pick when David is watching with us. Disney is often too violent for him, and he could go with Ace Ventura every time.
Meagan and Heather mentioned they needed clothes for work, so we went shopping on Saturday. I get annoyed when David takes Nicole to Dunkin’ every morning, but, when I spend money on them, it’s usually a couple hundred a pop. That’s a lot of bagels and coffee.
After having dinner with Grandma and Pepere where the clear choice was chocolate cake for dessert, it was back home for another movie. This time we took a big risk with Dave. The movie was R-rated.
Sunday morning, we decided to go apple picking. Except there were no more apples. So we picked out pumpkins. And I forced them to go on a hay ride. (It was free.) And we ate apple cider donuts. SEVERAL bags of apple cider donuts.
Then home for a quick photo shoot in prep for our Christmas card decision.
And then up to Peabody to choose bride’s maid dresses for cousin Lauren’s wedding.
Lastly, a quick dinner with Nana.
And then, poof, the decisions had all been made and the weekend was over.
By the way, I voted for the dress Meagan is modeling, but that suggestion was soundly rejected.
And our top choices for Christmas cards?
This:
The last one is the clear choice. Decision made.
It is a classic.
