Decluttering
The solar panel guy stood me up yesterday, so I needed something to do. I decided to tackle some clutter. This is always a source of tension in the family. I don’t like clutter. Other family members don’t seem to mind it one bit. Occasionally, I set up a table at the end of the driveway with stuff free for the taking for people on their way to the transfer station on Saturday mornings. I’m sure my kids will be discussing what we refer to as The Free Table in their therapy sessions.
I tore through Meagan’s room shortly after she left for college six years ago. I started in Heather’s room yesterday. She is graduating from college in less than a month. Why did I wait so long? Shall we say Heather is a little more vocal than Meagan.
I managed to get through one wall.
Before |
After |
Heather insists the “after” is no better than the “before”, and she might be right. I still have to touch up the walls and clean up the cords, but I am awfully proud of those shelves. They are actually attached to the studs. This may have been the first time in 26 years of home ownership that I have located studs. And it was a bear to do so. (Yes, I’ve read the helpful hints on locating studs. They assume good measuring skills).
You may be looking at that lovely blue hue (Benjamin Moore Summer Blue) and asking what other colors does she have in that house of hers?
Meagan – Supple Pink and Neon Celery |
Nicole – Grape Ice |
I’m thinking the colors in the older girls’ rooms are no longer age appropriate, but they beg to differ.
