Guest Bedroom and Laundry

The painters finished up at my brother’s condo yesterday, and I thought they did a great job. When they were done, they vacuumed the carpets and mopped the floors, which impressed me. One of them even offered to help me with shoveling off the back deck.

Why was I shoveling the back deck? Because I was trying to get to the ice dams on the back of the condo with a roof rake. With a big melt coming on Sunday, all I can think about is the freshly painted ceilings and I don’t trust the condo association to show up in time. Of course, while I was out there, the next door neighbor came out and asked me if I could do her roof. I got my workout in for the day.

As far as paint color goes, I decided to go with Revere Pewter because it won out in the poll by one vote. That deciding vote could have been Meagan who picked it because of the name. My little history buff.

The install in the bathrooms continues. Replacing a bathtub is a time-consuming process and is not for the faint of heart.

Here are a first set of before and after shots.

Notes: The liquor bottle in the before shot was actually filled with coins. I got the lamp from the master bedroom, the bedspread and shams are from Heather’s room, and you might recognize the small pillows and coverlet from Meagan’s room. I might hang a picture, but I really dread touching those walls.

Notes: The rocking chair had been in the living room. The blanket comes from Meagan’s room. The ladder and hockey sticks are now in the basement. The smaller dresser that had been in this corner is now in the closet. I might try to find something to put on top of this dresser. The paint color is known as a “greige” and actually goes better with the carpet than the photo depicts.

Notes: I did those shelves!

The question I keep asking myself is “Why am I having so much fun doing this?”
