Prom #5
While I may not have gone to my own prom, I’ve certainly made up for it since then. Between the three girls, there have been 5. So far.
In 2008, I saw my first daughter transformed into a beautiful young lady while the younger two were adorned in a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. One with the gap-toothed smile.
In 2010, my middle daughter was transformed. My oldest was off at college, but the sweatshirt and the gap-toothed smile were still present.
In 2015, there is no sweatshirt, and there is no gap-toothed smile. Just a beautiful young lady.
I’ve gotten attached to some of the boys that they have brought into our lives. (Some say a little too attached.) I’m starting to get attached to this one. Especially when he lets his guard down around us. You can tell when he does that from his laugh. (He is finding David funny, much to Nicole’s concern. And mine.) At first, we didn’t see much of him. They would disappear fairly quickly. Now, I have learned to plan on 4 for dinner.
Now for the hard part.
Waiting for them to come home safely.
