A Tad OCD
I like to keep lists. I feel much better when something is on a list rather than in my head. If it is just in my head, it gnaws at me because I keep thinking I’m going to forget it. If it is on a list, I know it will be there until I swipe across it and hit delete.
So, believe it or not, I make use of six list apps.
- Wunderlist for all of my to dos which are organized into 7 sub-lists for
- around the house
- at the computer
- errands
- phone calls
- in the yard, and
- Dave
- Reminders for things I need to do on a specific date
- e.g. give the dog her heartworm pill
- Calendar for appointments (mine, his, hers, Red Sox)
- AnyList for things I need
- at the grocery store
- at Costco
- Evernote for
- things I need at other stores
- movies and TV shows I want to see
- books I want to read
- gift ideas
- large purchases we’ve made going back to 1996
- plants in the yard
- anything else I feel the desire to be able to recall
- Notes for things related to this blog
And of course I still use pen and paper for things I need to do RIGHT NOW.
When people ask how they can be more organized, I just shake my head. Either you have it or you don’t.
Do I have a problem? Yes.
Am I okay with that problem? Yes.
Welcome to my world.
